Malawi Welcome Home Party

We want to invite you all to join us in welcoming the Malawi Team back to Champaign.
We'll be meeting them at the Train Depot / Bus Station on University.

They are currently scheduled to arrive at approximately 3:45pm on Sunday afternoon. Obviously that could change depending on the timeliness of planes, luggage, buses, etc. We should hear from them during the 10:30 worship services and will be able to confirm at both campuses what time they will be arriving.

By all accounts, it has been a great trip and I think it would be a wonderful wrap up to the trip if we had a crowd of folks there to welcome them home!

Stay tuned for more.

  1. Thanks so much for ALL your work, keeping track of the Malawi Project in all its wonderful unfolding! I was especially amused by Scott Anderson's wry update from O'Hare International's Gate B17 (Thursday, September 17, 2009). But then so many other issues of water and flat tires bring back memories of my own Peace Corps experience: bathing from a bucket, and a flat tire on a 12-hour bus trip from Zinder to Niamey in the Republic of Niger, December 25, 1980. Yes, Christmas; but the next bus was not scheduled for three more days! Evidently some things just never change!

If it were up to me, your blog, particularly the parts covering the Malawi Project, would receive much greater prominence at the First-Church-Web site.

I trust that your invitation to meet the team on Sunday afternoon will be reiterated for all to hear on Sunday morning. And yes, I will do my best to be there at the station among the awaiting throng.

Thanks again for the good work.

    Through the Love of Christ,

    Jim Berger
