One mom's blog on Christmas giving - AWESOME

Click on Calling for Justice to read about one mom's journey to faithfully follow Jesus in caring for the world at Christmas.

Scroll down her blog for some great gift ideas.

Not kidding: this is really inspiring stuff.

What are you doing?

  1. 10,000 Villages in downtown Champaign is a good place to buy some wonderful gifts from many third-world countries. Much of the profit goes back to the artisans in these countries whose livelihood depend on their crafts. I just bought some lovely ornaments from Bangladesh that were very inexpensive, but beautifully made. A good alternative to Wal-Mart!!

  2. On my side of the family, we are not purchasing gifts for all the nieces and nephews this year. This is a relief for most of us due to cost,(there are 10) but also because we were just quickly picking up gift cards without a lot of meaning. We are bringing our favorite snacks/treats and plan on spending time together. We are thoughtful of our nieces who are vegetarians looking forward to Uncle Scott's food (my husband is a chef!) This means more than a gift card to college students looking for good food!
We estimate we will save $175 this year, and enjoy ourselves even more!
